She really wants a pen pal who will write back, so she decides to write a letter to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt for help. This makes Hannah very mad so she decides not to write to him again. Hannah picks a boy named Edward Winchley from Wichita, Kansas. One day, Hannah's teacher asks her and her class to write a letter to a pen pal which they choose from a box of names.
